\"pic05\"<\/a>On Saturday August 1st, 2015, Sligo Drama Circle took part in the\u00a0Blue Raincoat Theatre Company’s<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0“A Country Under Wave<\/em>” project by staging a rehearsed reading of the W.B. Yeats play “The King’s Threshold”. Part of this project was to stage all 26 Yeats plays in 26 different locations in Sligo and its environs over the course of two days.<\/p>\n

A cast of thirteen actors took part in the outdoor reading which took place in the unique and beautiful surroundings of Creevylea Abbey in Dromahair, Co. Leitrim, a former 16th century Franciscan Friary. Lasting about 45 minutes, the reading was well received by a sizeable gathering in such a confined space.<\/p>\n

Other members of the Drama Circle also took part in readings of King of the Great Clock Tower, The Only Jealousy of Emer, The Dreaming of the Bones and the Herne’s Egg.<\/p>\n
