Kieran Hickey
We at Sligo Drama Circle are saddened to hear of the recent passing of our former member Kieran Hickey. Kieran was an active member of Sligo Drama Circle in the 1970s and early 1980s when he lived in Sligo.
He will probably best be remembered for his leading role of Teve in the 1979 SDC production of “Fiddler on the Roof” which ran for eleven nights in the Town Hall.
Other roles he played included Lord Brockhurst in the 1979 musical production of “The Boyfriend”; Peter in the 1980 passion play “The Triumph of Calvary” in Holy Cross Church; the Chorus in the 1981 production of “Antigone” by Jean Anouilh; Sir Thomas More in the outdoor production of Robert Bolt’s “A Man for all Seasons” in 1978.
We in the Sligo Drama Circle extend our sincere condolences to Kieran’s wife Anne, to his children and to his extended family and wide circle of friends. May he rest in peace.
