wasnt_it_a_full_life_ballymoteBack in April, Sligo Drama Circle staged “Wasn’t it a Full Life” in Sligo Courthouse. Based around the events of the 1916 Easter Rising, this piece was specially researched and written by director, Michael Leyden. Now, this show is coming to Ballymote, Co. Sligo for one night only, Thursday September 29th.

In “Wasn’t It A Full Life”, we are presenting a re-imagining of key episodes during the 1916 Rising – moments, events and people, a chronological unfolding of the drama from April 24 – May 10.

We reflect on the context to the Rising, the people and events during the Rising, the consequences and execution of the leaders and some reflections from a distance. Using verbatim accounts of witnesses and imagined actions of participants, Sligo Drama Circle hope to bring alive the time and people.
