Big Maggie For Hawk’s Well

Sligo Drama Circle is delighted to announce that we are continuing our 60th Anniversary celebrations with a production of John B Keane’s classic drama Big Maggie in the Hawk’s Well Theatre from November 8 – 12.

Set in rural 1960’s Ireland, in a society that values prayer, property, land and keeping up appearances above all else, recently widowed Maggie Polpin’s plan to assert control over the family business and farm, marks the end of her relationship with her four children, tearing the family apart forever.

Featuring Ann-Marie Byrne in the title role, the cast also includes Gerry Ryan, Orla Mc Sharry, Niamh Burke, Roy Mitchell, Marcel Gordon, Angela McGuire among others.

Sligo Drama Circle last produced this play in May 1999, the first play that was rehearsed in our new permanent home in the Market Yard.
