SDC on Radio with Men’s Shed
Members of Sligo Drama Circle featured on a programme on Ocean FM’s outside broadcast this morning, Friday December 8th, to celebrate the work of Sligo Men’s Shed. We have previously written on this website about Sligo Men’s Shed, but today was about creating an awareness of the Men’s Shed and the work that they do in the community.
Some of our members (Gerry Ryan, Ann-Marie Byrne, Máire Hynes and Damien Quinn) were interviewed live on air and informed listeners of the recent collaboration between Sligo Drama Circle and Sligo Men’s Shed for our production of “The Importance of Being Earnest” in the Hawk’s Well Theatre in November. Members of the Men’s Shed liaised with us in the planning of the set for this production, they made special parts for the set and helped us to erect the set on stage on the week of the performance.
We thoroughly enjoyed this new collaboration between two community groups and are really appreciative of the skill and dedication that these men brought to our production. Their creativity and attention to detail was second to none and the proof could be seen in the final set on stage.
