AGM 2023
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Sligo Drama Circle took place on Monday May 15th in the Drama Centre, Market Yard Sligo. Many thanks to all who took the trouble to attend the meeting and support the Drama Circle in its work.
Both the outgoing Chairperson Ursula Smullen and Secretary Máire Hynes outlined the activities of the Drama Circle during the calendar year 2022. These included the productions of “Gaslight” and “The Foreigner” as well as our trip to Listowel Writers Week with the production of “Gaslight”. They also mentioned our involvement in Yeats Day, the open evening and play readings for new members as well as an acting workshop delivered by Ciarán Mc Cauley of the Blue Raincoats. The outgoing Treasurer Damien Quinn also delivered a Financial Statement relating to the finances of the group over the preceding twelve months.
One main issue that was voted on was the new Constitution of the group. It was the feeling of the previous Committee that the existing Constitution was outdated and did not reflect the activities of the current group. A sub-Committee was set up to develop a new Constitution which was brought to the full Committee for ratification. This was then ratified by the outgoing Committee and passed by a vote of those present at the AGM.
A new Committee for the forthcoming year was then elected. They are as follows:
Chairperson: Máire Hynes
Secretary: Fintan Whelan
Treasurer: Damien Quinn
Committee: Ursula Smullen, Angela Mc Guire, Sarah Burns, Orla Mc Sharry, Brian Mc Gauran, Siobhán Terry, Emily Tansey, Ann-Marie Byrne, Michelle Feeney, Robert Fitzpatrick, Gerry Ryan, Laura Kiely
