Moll Revival Back on Stage
Our revival of our 2013 hit comedy “MOLL” by John B. Keane returns to the Hawk’s Well Theatre from July 7th to 11th. Such was the reaction to this staple of the Irish canon that we have been really anxious to re-create the parish presbytery on stage again.
MOLL is a clasic Irish comedy and it should appeal to visitors and locals alike. Whether you saw it last time in November 2013 or missed out on it, you’ll want to make sure you have your seats booked this time around.
The story is set in a 1970s presbytery where the Parish Priest, Canon Pratt, and his two curates Fr. Brest and Fr. Loran have resided together in relative happiness for years. However, the previous housekeeper has passed away and the priests have to find a new one. This is no easy task as Fr. Brest remarks that “when a presbytery gets a new housekeeper it becomes like a country that gets a change of government”.
After Moll Kettle is given the job, much to the dismay of Fr. Brest, life in the presbytery will never be the same again. However, it’s Moll’s suggestion of starting Bingo to fund the new school that upsets the curates enough to do some investigating into Moll’s past and to consider pleading their case to the Bishop. “Moll” promises a great night’s entertainment full of laughter.
Featuring a full original cast and crew, booking for MOLL in the Hawk’s Well Theatre from July 7th – 11th is now open HERE Tickets cost €15/€12 with a special family rate for two adults and two kids for €45. All tickets on opening night Tuesday July 7th cost €10.
