Yeats 2015
2015 marks the 150th anniversary since the birth of the poet W.B. Yeats. A year-long series of celebrations are planned to mark the event with exhibitions, poetry readings, performances and recordings. More information on the events to mark the year can be found on the Yeats 2015 website.
Sligo-based Blue Raincoat Theatre Company plan to stage performances of some Yeats plays in unusual settings during the year, following on their successes during the previous two summers, staging Yeats plays on the summit of Knocknarea Mountain and on the shores at Cummeen Strand.
Hargadon’s Bar in O’ Connell St. have launched their Daily Poetry recital/reading for Yeats 2015. The daily readings take place Monday to Saturday at 1pm and Sundays at 6pm. Readers are required so you can contact Hargadon’s if you are interested in reading a poem.
Lots of other activities are planned during the year to celebrate all things Yeats. We will try to keep you informed of these here on the website or on our Facebook Page.
