2013 Productions
2013 was a busy year for Sligo Drama Circle with six productions staged in different Sligo venues throughout the year. In March, our Spring production in the Hawk’s Well Theatre was “By the Bog of Cats” by Marina Carr. Our Summer production, also in the Hawk’s Well Theatre, was a revival of a previous Drama Circle hit, “Peg O’ My Heart” by J. Hartley Manners. In October, we staged a production of a new one act play, by Sligo’s Patrick Curley, called “Beneath the Bone Moon” in our Drama Centre in the Market Yard as well as other venues around town.
“Dark Tales ’13” was a series of stories performed in different venues around town in the Autumn. Eugène Ionesco’s one act play, “The Lesson”, was performed on the one act festival circuit during November as well as in Coolera’s Kilmacowen Hall and in the Drama Centre in the Market Yard. Later in November, we staged John B. Keane’s “Moll” in the Hawk’s Well Theatre, a play which we had never staged before in our almost sixty year history.
2013 was certainly one of our busiest years on the stage!
